EKG Courses – Here’ are some essential courses that a hopeful EKG technician would need to take:
Associate of Science in Radiography:
Students take general academics courses and radiography-specific courses in this associate’s level program. Radiography courses include Radiobiology, Radiographic Pathology, Clinical Education, and others.
Associate of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology: Students learn how to use radioactive pharmaceuticals in this program to analyze tumors and organs. Courses cover topics in clinical nuclear medicine, radiation protection and more. Students are expected to fulfill a combination of classroom courses and lab requirements.
Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences: This program is designed for students who already have academic or professional training in radiology and will be completed in seven 15-week semesters. Eligible students must be registered with the ARRT or NMTCB.
Radiologic Technologist to Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences
Those who want an advanced, more broad-based education in radiologic technology will benefit from this program. Eligible students must have at least one year of professional experience and must be an ARRT registered radiologic technologist. The program combines general academics and upper-level specialty courses.
Basic X-Ray Program
Students involved in this program prepare to become X-ray assistants and radiological assistants. Through classroom and on-site instruction, they learn a variety of skills and concepts, including medical ethics, anatomy and patient care, as well as the ability to work with radiography equipment. Graduates of this program will be eligible to take the HRS Basic X-Ray Machine Operator exam.
Diagnostic Vascular Sonography Certificate
Health care professionals who already have experience working in the field can learn the cutting edge technologies and systems used in diagnostic vascular sonography by enrolling in this certificate program. They develop more advanced skills, helping them stay current and competitive in the field.

This program is actually designed for professionals who already have their radiography certification. Classes cover topics in nuclear medicine techniques, radiopharmacy, radiation protection and patient care.
Limited Medical Radiography Diploma

Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting with Limited X-Ray

Their curriculum includes classroom instruction, lab work, and an externship, and degree candidates also take courses in computer technology that will prepare them for work in this leading edge field.
